Residential house of drug peddler in Kulgam: Police*


Srinagar, Mar 19 : Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kulgam have attached the residential house of a drug peddler on Tuesday, a spokesman said.

“Continuing its action against drug peddlers, Police in Kulgam attached property (Single story residential house) worth approx. Rs 1,014,894, measuring 976.76 Sq. ft belonging to notorious drug peddler namely Ghulam Mohammad Mir @Gull Kasai Son of Mohd Abdullah Mir resident of Bugam,” a police statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reads.

The action was taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of NDPS Act of 1985 & is linked with case FIR No. 166/2015 U/S 8/15 of NDPS act & 77/2022 U/S 8/15 of NDPS Act of PS Kulgam, it said.

The property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Kulgam Police. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the said drug peddler, the statement said.

This operation reaffirms the commitment of J&K Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area hailed the initiative of J&K Police, the spokesman said—(KNO)

 *Man dies in Kulgam accident* Kulgam, Mar 14 : An elderly man died after an auto he was travelling in turned turtle at Damhal Hanjipora belt of South Kashmir's Kulgam on Thursday, an official said.  An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) an Auto load carrier bearing registration number JK18A-7544 turned turtle near Adijen bridge at Damhal Hanjipora in which a person travelling inside the vehicle suffered injuries. He said the injured was shifted to the hospital where he was declared brought dead by doctors.
