 *Man posing as under secretary J&K Raj Bhawan arrested in Jammu*   Srinagar, Feb 17 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir Crime Branch on Tuesday arrested a man posing as under secretary with Raj Bhawan even as probe is underway. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the man was arrested by CICE Jammu unit of Crime Branch after taking cognizance in case FIR 03/2024. He has been identified as Firdous Ahmad Wagay, son of Ghulam Nabi Wagay of Waskora, Ganderbal. The official said that some incriminating material including fake ID cards, seals and other documents used in the commission of crime has also been seized from his possession. Beijing-based Betavolt said its nuclear battery is the first in the world to realise the miniaturisation of atomic energy, placing nickel-63 isotopes into a module smaller than a coin. Unidentified Body Found in Central Kashmir

  SRINAGAR: An unidentified body was recovered from Jhelum in the Parimpora area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday afternoon. An official said that an unidentified decomposed dead body was recovered from Jhelum. He said that police took their body into their custody and identification is being ascertained. He added that further investigation in this regard has been taken up.(KS)

  At least one foreign skier died on Thursday after a massive snow avalanche hit Khilan Marg on Afarwat Peak Gulmarg. According to initial reports, two skiers have been rescued and one is said to be injured. Rescue teams have rushed to the spot. “Soon after, a massive rescue operation was launched at the site, which has so far resulted in killing of a skier and rescue of three others," the official said adding “operation is underway to look for at least one skier believed to be trapped under the snow.” The foreigners had gone to the ski slopes without local residents, they said. Personnel of the Army and a patrolling team of the Jammu and Kashmir administration are carrying out rescue-cum-search operations.
